The Seahawks will miss Chad Brown more than you might expect a team could miss a soon-to-be 35-year-old linebacker. Sure, they signed Jamie Sharper to fill Brown's spot on the strong side, and Sharper is five years younger and has been ridiculously productive and durable in missing only one start in eight NFL seasons. But who replaces Brown as a pass-rusher in the nickel? That's the role the Seahawks wanted Brown to fill, at a greatly reduced salary ($1 million plus sack incentives, compared to the $4.2 million he was scheduled to make). The Seahawks will regret that they didn't sweeten the deal so Brown would have stayed.
