Is this a good thing or a bad thing?

Here's a striking stat from ESPN-dot-com's Tuesday Morning Quarterback (aka Gregg Easterbrook):

The Seattle Seahawks are 6-3 despite being outscored.

Hm. Is this glass half-full or half empty?

There were bright spots, honest!

The bright spots in Seattle’s game with the Kansas City Chiefs were not on the scoreboard, alas. But here are two things to find encouraging: One, Seneca Wallace, making his first NFL start standing in for QB Matt Hasselbeck, got off three touchdown passes and kept the Seahawks in the game. Two, Jerramy Stevens seems to have recovered all the way from knee surgery, catching three passes including one that we scored on.

We do need Hasselbeck and Shaun Alexander healthy and back on the field, as well as Bobby Engram and Pork Chop Womack. And somebody counted up half a dozen less-than-stellar opponents on the schedule for the rest of the season. I’m guessing that means when we’re lined up against, say, the Arizona Cardinals, we’ll be the bright spots.
